CARE/AGES Fellowship
Since welcoming its first Fellow in 1995, the CARE Fellowship Program has been dedicated to training the next generation of advanced gynaecological surgeons. When the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery (AGES) Society formalised its Fellowship Program in 2005, CARE became one of Australia’s accredited fellowship centres and has remained an integral part of AGES training ever since.
CARE offers both one- and two-year Fellowship programs, providing flexibility for Fellows to tailor their training according to their individual learning goals and career aspirations.
Over the past three decades, CARE has trained Fellows from across Australia and internationally, many of whom have gone on to establish successful careers in advanced minimally invasive gynaecological surgery.
While the Fellowship was founded by A/Prof Alan Lam, it has evolved into a collaborative training program delivered by the entire CARE specialist team. Fellows gain experience across a broad range of advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures, endometriosis and pelvic pain surgery, fertility-preserving surgery and complex benign gynaecology, while benefiting from mentorship by multiple experienced surgeons. This collaborative approach provides diverse surgical exposure, mentorship from multiple experts and experience in multidisciplinary patient care.
The CARE/AGES Fellowship aims to equip Fellows with the technical expertise, clinical judgement and professional mentorship required for independent practice and future leadership in advanced gynaecological surgery.
