Dr Charlotte Rook   MBBS, FRANZCOG

Fostering a keen interest in human biology, science and healthcare from a young age, Charlotte entered and completed her undergraduate degree in medicine and surgery at the University of Western Sydney, graduating in 2014.

It was during her clinical placement in obstetrics and gynaecology as a medical student that Charlotte realized a love and passion for women’s reproductive health.

Dr Charlotte completed specialist training and obtained her Fellowship of the Royal and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) in early 2024. During the course of her training, Dr Charlotte has gained experience working at various Sydney metropolitan and regional centres including St George Hospital, The Sutherland Hospital, Nepean Hospital, Orange Health Service, Wollongong Hospital, The Royal Hospital for Women and Royal North Shore Hospital.

Whilst in the final years of specialist training, Charlotte concurrently completed a prestigious two-year fellowship in advanced laparoscopic and gynaecological surgery at the Centre for Advanced Reproductive Endosurgery (Sydney CARE). She is now a successful graduate of the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery (AGES) Society Accredited Training Program (AATP).

Charlotte is an active participant in medical research, and has a number of active projects. She has presented her work at national and international conferences, and had the honour of presenting a surgical demonstration as an invited speaker at the 2023 American Association of Gynaecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) 52nd Global Congress on Minimally invasive Gynaecological Surgery Conference in Nashville, Tennessee.

Charlotte is also involved in education locally, facilitating practical skills training at the tri-annual CARE Master Class Course in laparoscopic pelvic surgery and holds a lecturer position in Obstetrics and Gynaecology position at The University of Sydney. She also enjoys on-the-job teaching of registrars, junior doctors and medical students.

Charlotte is well-known for her excellent communication skills, easy-going personality and calm demeanor. She is passionate about patient education and assisting patients to make informed decisions about their own health. She has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery and the surgical and non-surgical management of endometriosis. She is also skilled and experienced in management of a wide range of gynaecological concerns, including menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, fibroids, Caesarean scar defects, subfertility, prolapse, urinary incontinence and benign ovarian pathology.

Outside of medicine, Charlotte enjoys travel, live music and creative art projects.

Dr Charlotte will be welcoming new patients from May 2024.
